Lake Erie Charter Fishing - Walleye, Perch and Steelhead Trout

It is well documented that Lake Erie charters are the best place
in the world to catch trophy walleye, perch and steelhead trout. The heat of late July and August push monster walleye to the cool, deep water in the central basin of Lake Erie. Our specialty is fishing for walleye that are suspended in the deep, open water of central Lake Erie.

When we are not fishing for walleye, we are fishing for yellow perch. These fish are some of the best eating fish you will ever have. Perch are normally caught any time during our fishing season witch last from June through early October

Winter Blues Walleye & Perch Charters are docked in Ashtabula, Ohio at Kister marina. We work with multiple charter captains to give you the best Lake Erie charter fishing experience possible. Lake Erie charter fishing is fun for all ages. Kids enjoy catching their first monster walleye. This is not the typical blue gill the kids are used to catching. Adults like to turn it into a competition of who will catch the most perch, or the biggest walleye. We encourage everyone that charters a trip aboard the Winter Blues to have a good time. The only way to do that is to jump on the boat and catch some fish - Game On!

Wine & Walleye Festival

Few people realize that central Lake Erie Erie area also produces some excellent wine. For the last few years, Ashtabula Harbor has held a Wine and Walleye Festival. This event is typically held the last weekend of August. Along with the local wineries offering wine tasting, there is also a walleye tournament held with the festival. The tournament is held on Saturday (Sunday if Lake Erie waters are not fishable on Saturday) and pays out for the largest walleye and largest steelhead. If you have a charter trip scheduled for the day of the tournament, you have the option to register your charter trip for the tournament.
